From the Snake Spring Church, Pa.

We met in council at the Cherry Lane house, July 18, our elder, Jacob Koons, being present. We agreed to divide our territory and form a new organization out of the southern part, lying partly in Bedford County and partly in Fulton. County, Pa. This new congregation will have two meetinghouses, one minister, two deacons, and forty to forty-five members.

This newly-organized congregation met in council July 31, and agreed to be known as the Artemas church. They appointed their love feast for Nov. 5, beginning at 4 P, M. It was also agreed to have a series of meetings, in connection with the love feast, to begin on Saturday before, to be conducted by Bro, Z. Annon, of West Virginia. We also held our harvest meeting on Sunday, Aug. 1, at which time we took up a collection for home missions, amounting to 85.

On Friday evening, Aug. 6, brethren J. B. Fluck and J. B, Brumbaugh met with us at our Buck Valley house, preaching on Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and evening, and Sunday forenoon. On the latter occasion we had a harvest meeting. We also raised a collection for home missions to the amount of $2.6$. We baptized a man seventy- seven years of age, on Sunday.

John Bennett.
