Washita Church (1897 -)
Brethren at Work Feb. 19, 1898 page 125 Vol. 34 No. 8 Washita. – Dec. 27 about fifteen members met at the house of Bro. Daniel Brubaker, for the purpose of organizing a church., Bro. John R. Pitzer was advanced to the duly installed into the second degree of the ministry. Others officers elected were, Bro. Hiram Willfaun, as treasurer, Sister Lizzie Brubaker as solicitor, and the writer as correspondent. It was also decided to hold a Communion Dec. 28, which was a feast to our souls. This was the first Communion ever held in Washita County. Bro. A. W. Austin officiated. He was also chosen are our elder. While with us be preached several good sermons. – Maggie B.
