Pleasant Valley church met in council April 15.  Twenty-one letters were read: several more are waiting for their letters.  We have two elders, two ministers in the second degree, and one deacon.  The church was organized. Bro. A. J. Detrick, of Cushing, Okla., presided.  The writer was elected correspondent for the Messenger. Eld D. E. Cripe was chosen to take charge of the church. We decided to have a love feast June 17.  We appointed a council meeting for the second Saturday in May.  Bro. Detrick remained with us Sunday night and Sunday forenoon and preached for us.  We are glad that we have a church home again. We have preaching each Lord’s Day in schoolhouses, but expect to build a churchhouse in the future. – Ellen Ruff, Mounds, I. T., April 18.

Pleasant Valley. – Our little band of members held their first love feast June 17. Twenty-three surrounded the Lord’s table.  In the absence of visiting brethren, our home minister, four in number, conducted the services,  Eld. D. E. Cripe officiating.  The meeting was held at the residence of Eld. J. L. Thomas, four miles from Beggs, Creek nation, I. T.  A grassy lawn, covered with a awning, afforded a pleasant place for the purpose.  May expressed themselves as having enjoyed the meeting. Many numbers of neighbors came to witness the ordinances for the first time, and we think good impressions were made upon them, judging from the good order and strict attention given. Any of our Brethren who may be contemplating seeking a home in the southwest might do well to visit our part of the country.  There is still room for more workers in this beautiful, widespread county. – Lydia Cripe, Mounds, Creek nation, I. T. June 21.

Pleasant Valley. – Dec. 14 we met at the home of Bro. John Markely for regular council.  Our elder, Bro. J. L. Thomas presided.  Two letters of membership were received, and nine granted.  We are sorry to have so many leave us, for the battle is a hard one to fight here.  We have on minister, one deacon and a few members.  Bro. T. Pendleton was elected church solicitor and the writer church correspondent.  Should there be any of our members, and especially ministers, traveling through this part of the country, please stop with us the first and third Sundays of each month, at the Pleasant Valley schoolhouse, near Beggs. – Ellen Ruff, Sapulap, Okla., Dec. 30.
