From Dayton, Ohio

The members of West Dayton, and vicinity, having petitioned the district, and their request being granted, they, with the adjoining elders, Geo. Holler, John Smith, John Bowman, George Garber, and – Gump, met at the home of Bro. S. W. Hoover to effect an organization.  Our meeting was well represented and much interest manifested both by the members and elders present.

The name of our district is “The West Dayton District.”  We number forty-two members, with two ministers and one elder.  We have elected three Trustees, a Clerk and
Treasurer.  We thought best to defer the election of deacons for a while.  We have $2200.00 subscribed towards purchasing a lot and building a house.  We think it will take nearly $3500.00 more to purchase a lot and building a suitable house.  We want, if possible, to commence building by June 1.

We send brethren Frank Cotterman and S. W. Hoover to the District Meeting of Southern Ohio, and Bro. S. W. Hoover to Annual Meeting.   H. C. Butterbaugh
