Good News from the Sunny South.

Aug. 14, Bro. A. J. Vines and I left our home to do some church and mission work in North Carolina. We boarded the train at Jouesborough Tenn., to Morristown on the East Tennessee, Virginia and Georgia E. R. There I changed cars taking the Richmond and Danville R, B., by way of Warm Springs, up the French Broad River to Alexander. Here we stopped off and went out into the country about five miles to Bro. A. N. Bogers'. His wife and daughter are also members. We had six meetings at Slate school-house. From here we went, by way of Ashville, N. C, to Hendereonville, on the top of the Blue Ridge. Here we stopped off, and went five miles out to Cross Roads, Henderson Co., N. G, where there is a small church of the Brethren, that was organized about ten years ago, and is now under the care of Eld. George A. Branscom, who lives at a distance of thirty miles. There are two ministers in the second degree, brethren Eli Bradley and Samuel Jones, who reside near this place, and assist him in the ministry. They also have four deacons.  This little church has had dark clouds over it for several years. A committee had to be called from District Meeting, to look into their trouble. We, as the committee, called the church together, heard their grievances, and settled the trouble to the satisfaction of all. We hope that the shine of peace may crown all their efforts in the future. We had twelve meetings with this little band of brethren. Three members were restored, and one received by letter.
