From Colby Church, Thomas Co., Kansas

The brethren and sisters of the Quinter church convened in council June 1, in Thomas County, and organized the brethren and sister of said County into an organization, Called the “Colby Church.” The County lines are the church boundary. We decided unanimously to adhere to the principles of the Gospel as understood and taught by the General Brotherhood.  Elders John Ikenberry and B. B. Whitmer presided over the meetings.  Elder Whitmer was chosen as elder in charge.

On the evening of the same day we celebrated the Lord’s Supper, and we were fed bountifully with heavenly manna, and felt straightened with might by the Spirit in the inner man.  May the Lord enable us all to shine as lights to the world, and continue faithful unto death, is our prayer!
