From Cherokee, Co., Kansas

According to announcement, the brethren and sisters of Cherokee county, met in council on
April 8th to fully organize; the church here being without an Elder. Bro. G. W. Studebaker, now has charge of this arm of the church.  The brethren and sisters here are all united on general principles of the Gospel. The church here number about 40 members with 4 ministers, 3 of whom moved here from Indiana this Spring.  We also organized our Sunday School, electing the following officers; Jacob Appleman, Superintendent; James Adamsoe, Assistant Superintendent;  N. S.  Gripe Secretary; S. Eby Treasurer.

We have a very beautiful country here, every things looks well, and some wheat is knee high. We like this part of the country very well; we have brought a little house and expect to remain here. We would e glad to have the brethren come among us and help build up the church; we want brethren to locate here who are loyal to the church of God.    Jacob Appleman,  Star Valley, Kan. April 17th.
