Pleasant Prairie Church (1880-?)
The Primitive Christian Oct. 5, 1880 page 311, Vol. XVIII No. 40A New Organization By request of brother Joshua Shultz and myself we met the dear members in Cedar county, Iowa, on the 3rd of September, to assist in organizing a church. There was quite a full representation of members present. The organization was effected by the choice of brother John Zuck chosen foreman for the church; brother B. F. Miller advanced to the second degree in the ministry and also appointed clerk; brother Noah Rudy was chosen for deacon. The members applied the very appropriate name of Pleasant Prairie to the new organization. They now have a membership of thirty-eight including three ministers in the second degree and two deacons. They seem to possess the elements of success, as one readily notices they enjoy the confidence of those without; and, if the Lord will, by consistent live and an unwavering ministration of the preached word, they will succeed in building up a prosperous church and win many souls to Christ. May God bless and prosper the Pleasant Prairie church. D. E. Brubaker |
