The Gospel Messenger Sept. 26, 1908 page 62 Boise City Mission. – The Members of the Boise City Mission secured permission of the Nampa church (the mother church) to be organized into a separate congregation, which was granted. We met at 8 P. M., Sept. 8, to effect the organization. Elder J. C. Neher, of the Nampa church, was present to assist us in the work. After the regular opening services church letters were called for and read, making our total membership twenty-six. – The result of active work in the city for the past eighteen months. Next the name of he congregation was decided on. The name chosen was “The First Church of the Brethren". We next proceeded to select church officers as follows: Clerk, M. R. Weaver; treasurer Elmer Redmon; Messenger agent and corresponding secretary, M. R. Weaver; elder, L. E. Keltner. All officers’ time expires Jan. 1, 1909. There being on deacons among our number, we proceeded to elect some, which resulted in three being chosen to the deacon’s office as follows: Isaac Barklow, Daniel I Stover, Elmer Redmon. We also decided to hold a member’s meeting the first Tuesday evening of each month. Thus the Boise City Mission has grown form a little beginning into an organized congregation, with bright prospects before her of becoming a strong congregation in the near future. We have a large city, a fine climate, mild winders, and a fine, productive farming and fruit country. – J. A. Weaver, Boise City, Ida., Sept. 14
