From Delta, Colo.

Bro. George E. Studebaker came to us Aug. 18, with the tent having stakes and poles to get, and seats to arrange, it took several days to get ready. On the evening of Aug. 23, he commenced preaching.  The meetings continued until the evening of Sept. 11, when they    were closed.  Twenty-four meetings were held, including the organization on Saturday, Sept, 10.  We organized with twelve members present.  Eight members were not present, who we expect to come into the organization.  Four were received into the fold by confession and baptism; others are near the kingdom. On the evening of Sept. 10 a love feast was held. Five members from the Grand Valley church made us glad by coming and feasting with us.  The attendance during the meetings was fair and the interest good.  Bro. H. H. Winger, Bro. Watkins and wife, Sister Henry and daughter ere the members from Grand Valley. The two brethren, above named, gave us good spiritual food on Sunday, Sept. 11. At our organization Bro. A. Snideman was chosen to the office of deacon and duly installed.  May he magnify his office! This organization will be known as the Delta church, Delta Co., Colo.  Bro. J. M. Hoover was chosen treasurer, Bro. A. Snideman, clerk, and the writer, corresponding secretary.  The writer was also given the oversight of this little band of workers.  We hope to work up a good congregation here.

To-morrow I take Bro. Studebaker to Smith Fork, about thirty miles east of here, where he will commence meetings to continue about ten days. Our meetings here were a feast to the soul. We attended every meeting. Although wife is nearly blind, and we had two and one-half miles to go, we were always on time.    John J. Hoover
